FINAL YEAR PROJECT

Forewords

'On behalf of the Division of Languages and Communication, I take great pleasure in welcoming you to the project exhibition which showcases the innovative works of our students on the Associate of Arts in Communication and Public Relations.

The C&PR projects you are going to see pleasantly and perfectly embody the spirit of commitment and passion, the theme of this year’s exhibition.  After a tour of the exhibition, I am sure you will agree with me that the projects on display speak volumes for the talents and creativity of our students.  In working on the Projects, the C&PR students have integrated all the skills and knowledge they have acquired over their two years with the Community College of City University.

I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation to the host organizations who have inspiring unqualified confidence in our students and have entrusted them with the important task of promoting their organizations. Thank you for your generous sterling support given to us every step of the way.

A special vote of thanks to both teachers and students for the tremendous efforts they have put in their work. In fact, the C&PR programme, headed by Ms. Cicy Tong, started some ten years ago. Since then, it has grown from strengths to strengths.  It is now a well-established and one of the most sought-after academic programmes in the sector.

So, congratulations, guys, for a great job done.  Last but not least, I wish those of you who are going to graduate soon every success in your future endeavors.'

Welcome message

This is the eleventh year in which students showcase their Final Year Projects in the Communication and Public Relations (AACPR) programme. The FYP represents the culmination of all the academic and practical knowledge and skills they have learnt, which is utilized to promote and generate publicity for host organizations through authentic PR campaigns.

Each group worked closely with their hosts to define the project aims and strategies, and group members applied their skills and creativity to disseminate messages that are both creative and engaging for the target audience using traditional and new media channels.

Many of the groups also found sponsors to assist them with products, services and/or financial support, and did fund-raising for a registered charity.  The hosts are very pleased with the professionalism and expertise of the students, and the FYP supervisors are delighted with what the students have achieved and how they have matured in the process.  This is clearly a win-win situation and a major milestone that the students will never forget.

Each project is captivating, innovative and unique in its own way, and I would encourage you to visit their booths and see for yourself the commitment and passion that these students have put into their projects. Ask them some thought-provoking questions, and join me in congratulating them on their achievements.
